Bio

“Dj Icecold” was born Isaac Marcelino Castillo Jr. on September 26th 1987 in a small, South American town called Cochabamba in the country of Bolivia. The youngest of the three to Isaac Castillo Sr. a locally known DJ and national soccer hero. His mother Melva Navia was a receptionist of a radio station. Isaac Castillo Sr. moved his family to Elizabeth, New Jersey when Isaac Jr. was only 6 months. This is where he first fell in love with music. He took trips to Newark & bought hip-hop tapes with his father. He created his first mix-tapes by sneaking into his older brothers CD collection every night before bed. At the age of 15 his father moved the family to Miami, Florida where
Isaac Jr. became what friends would call him Icecold.
Isaac graduated from Coral Park Senior High in 2005 and received his first DJ mixer from his father. This gift from his old man affected Isaac’s life in a major way. He took the name of Icecold in high school because of his cold demeanor he had developed. “Icecold was a nick name that stuck with me even after graduation so when it was time to select a stage name. I didn’t have to think too hard. People already knew me as Icecold so it was easy. ” – Isaac
Dj Icecold began working in the house/warehouse party circuit in Miami while he attended college at Florida International University. He enrolled himself into the summer courses immediately after graduating high school but found the journey was short-lived. He started to miss more and more days of class and realized following his dream as a DJ was more appealing to him than college. In the fall of 2006 Isaac dropped out of FIU and left behind a student’s life of homework and attendance for a life as a professional DJ.
The life of a DJ is a constant struggle and cannot be done alone if success is what you are after. Isaac introduced his older brother Sergio to the night-life business where they became partners. Together they founded a Design / Photography / Music company called ” Good life Miami LLC”. Sergio and Isaac took the path of entrepreneurship together and promised on New Years Day 2007 to give their all to achieve success.
” I owe everything to my older brother Sergio. Without him none of this would have been possible and I hope one day I can be that window to somebody else. ” – Isaac
